If you have come across this screen on a nice and cold morning, you know exactly how frustrating it is. I've been there. Running reseller groups, inviting people, scaling sales and suddenly everything goes to zero, all the leads that came so far are a waste now
The system flags you when your behaviour starts looking like a bot or a spammer — even if you're not one.
Types Of Bans one gets
1. Temporary Ban
This is the most common one. You'll see a message saying your account is temporarily banned, and it'll show a timer — sometimes a few hours, sometimes 24–48 hours.
The good news: It goes away on its own. Just wait it out and don't try to log back in repeatedly, that makes it worse.
2. Permanent Ban
This one hurts. Your number is blocked from WhatsApp completely. You'll see — This account is not allowed to use WhatsApp.
This happens when you've been reported multiple times by different people, you've violated WhatsApp's terms seriously, or you used third-party WhatsApp apps like GB WhatsApp or WhatsApp Plus.
You can appeal this — there's an option that says "Support" or "Request a Review" right on the banned screen. It doesn't always work but it's worth trying.
REQUEST (copy-paste)
Subject: Request to Review My Banned WhatsApp Account
Hello WhatsApp Support Team,
My number [your number with country code, eg: +91 XXXXXXXXXX] has been permanently banned, and I'm writing to request a review of this decision.
I understand why the ban may have been triggered — I was managing a few reselling groups and adding members to them, which I now realise may have looked like spam activity to your system. That was never my intention. I was simply trying to grow my small business and stay connected with my customers.
I was not using any third-party or modified version of WhatsApp. I've always used the official app. I also wasn't sending bulk promotional messages to strangers — everything was within my own contacts and business circle.
I genuinely rely on WhatsApp for my day-to-day business communication, and losing access to this number has affected me significantly. I'm requesting you to kindly review my account and reconsider the ban.
I assure you that going forward, I will be more careful about how I manage groups and will strictly follow WhatsApp's terms of service.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you'll give my account a fair review.
Regards, [Your name] [Your number]
NOTE: There will be a support option, and go for "This is a mistake" and copy-paste the above. Also, don't spam the requests by sending more. Just send once and wait for a reply, or else you can also send an email to support@whatsapp.com directly with this message
3. Business Account Ban
This specifically targets WhatsApp Business accounts. If you're using WhatsApp Business for reselling (like I was) and you're mass messaging, adding strangers to groups, or sending promotional content to people who never saved your number — this is what happens. It may also end up in a situation where u have to leave that number
4. Group-Related Ban
This is the sneaky one. When you're an admin of a group, and your group gets reported by multiple members, WhatsApp can ban your admin number. Even if the members reported the group for something you didn't even post. It may also end up in a situation where u will never get a particular group/community.
How to Prevent This
1. Don't add people to groups without their permission. Instead, share your group invite link and let people join themselves. This one change alone will reduce your ban risk drastically.
2. Spread out your group invitations. If you must add people, don't add 50 in one go. Add 5–10, wait a few hours, then add more.
3. Ask people to save your number first. Before adding someone to a group or messaging them, ask them to save your number. This signals to WhatsApp that it's a real relationship.
4. Never use GB WhatsApp or any unofficial app. I know the features are tempting. But it's not worth losing your number over. Stick to the official B WhatsApp.
5. Avoid mass forwarding. If you're forwarding product images or offers to many people at once, stop. Send it individually or use broadcast lists only to people who've saved your contact. You can also set a particular time gap yourself, like 5 people at once, and then 2 min of scrolling reel and then come back again and repeat the process.
6. Use Broadcast Lists properly. Broadcast lists only deliver messages to people who have your number saved. This is the safest way to reach multiple people without triggering spam filters.
7. If you get a temporary ban, stop immediately. Don't try to log in again and again. Just wait. Every failed attempt can push it from temporary to permanent.
